Privacy policy for Pokepath TD

Introduction

Pokepath TD (pokepath.games) is a free browser tower defense game. This page explains what information we collect, how it’s used, and the choices you have. We keep data collection minimal and focus on features that improve gameplay and protect your progress (save/export, optional account sync, and basic analytics).

Information We Collect

  • Account information: If you register or sign in to sync progress, we store basic account details (username, email) to enable cross-device continuation of saves, cosmetics, and settings.
  • Game progress: Saves, unlocked content, achievements, and preferences stored to preserve your progression between sessions.
  • Support messages: Information you submit via contact or support forms so we can respond (name, email, message content).
  • Usage & analytics: Anonymous metrics (page views, clicks, locale, theme) and aggregated usage statistics to improve the site and game experience.
  • Cookies / local storage: Lightweight data stored in your browser to remember preferences, locale, theme, and exported/imported save references.
  • Third-party game telemetry: The embedded browser game or downloadable desktop builds (available on itch.io) may collect gameplay data under their own settings; we only store what’s necessary for account sync unless otherwise stated.

How We Store and Protect Data

We use industry-standard protections (encryption in transit, access controls) to safeguard data. While we take reasonable precautions, no system is completely secure — please export and back up important saves if needed.

How We Share Data

We do not sell personal data. We may share limited data with service providers (hosting, analytics, email delivery) who process it under contract. We will disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Save files & Local Storage

The browser build stores save data locally (browser storage). Updates, clearing the cache, or using private/incognito mode can remove browser-stored saves. For a more stable experience consider downloading the desktop build from itch.io. You can use the in-game Export Save feature to download a JSON save for manual backups and Import Save to restore when needed.

Children

Pokepath TD is not directed to children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child without parental consent, contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

The site may link to third-party services (itch.io, Discord, analytics providers). Those services have their own privacy practices — please review their policies before using them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. The created_at date above shows the last revision — continued use after changes implies acceptance.
